Project summary
The Jewish Cultural Heritage (JCH) forms an integral part of the shared cultural heritage in Europe and therefore requires a common responsibility to preserve it for upcoming generations.
The JEWELS TOUR project brings together 9 Partners and Associated Policy Authorities from 6 EU Countries with the common goal of improving policy instruments to promote an optimal valorization of tangible and intangible JCH. Making JCH more accessible and attractive may generate great benefits in terms of cultural and economic growth of EU regions.
The JEWELS TOUR methodology leverages the technical supervision of Advisory Partners and the peer-learning approach to trigger cross-fertilization and mutual exchange among policymakers and relevant players dealing with tourism development and cultural heritage protection and valorisation.
The following key pillars will enable the achievement of the project’s goals:
- Stakeholder engagement strategy based on participatory governance
- comparative analysis providing the necessary scientific foundations to develop knowledge transfer, good practice sharing and capacity building
- mutual learning process and policy development through an intensive program of good practices exchange at regional and interregional level
Finally, the follow-up phase will be devoted to the monitoring and evaluation of policy instruments’ improvements.
Through the adoption of a common methodology, the impact generated by the improvement of policy instruments will be measured and shared within the partnership and stakeholders, as well as with relevant policy makers in order to represent a best practice and replicable example.
Leveraging the JCH valorization, the project will contribute to the construction of a more social Europe with improved governance.
